To mark its 50th anniversary, the Center for Coastal Studies (CCS) will host a public celebration at Provincetown Town Hall on Thursday, June 25, from 6 to 9 pm.
For five decades, CCS has advanced marine science through independent research, long-term monitoring, and education, deepening our understanding of ocean and coastal ecosystems and the life they sustain.
Based in Provincetown, CCS conducts research across the Gulf of Maine, the western North Atlantic, and marine ecosystems around the world, tracking how these ecosystems are changing over time. This work helps protect marine life and supports coastal communities, combining rigorous research with direct action, including marine animal disentanglement and long-term ecosystem monitoring.
The evening will feature musical performances by Sarah Swain and The Oh Boys, light refreshments, a cash bar, and guests will have the opportunity to learn more about the Center for Coastal Studies, now celebrating 50 years of science that matters.
