Future Ocean Bohemians at the Gifford House

Please join CCS Scientist/Artist in Residence Mark Adams and Director of the Land-Sea Interaction Program Katie Castagno and others for a repeat performance of  “Future Ocean Bohemians” at Gifford House, 9 Carver Street, Provincetown.

Performed on top of a large global oceans map, the event features original music and covers, excerpts from theater, scientists and poets. Local and legendary characters include a Siren-Muse of the sea, the Navigator-Harbormaster, a Geologist, the Captain, a Wise Cuttlefish, world navigator Jeanne Socrates, able seaman Billy Budd, treasure hunter Jim Hawkins, and a couple of sly clammers.

An hour and twenty minutes of music, readings and dialogue about the future of our coast and ocean, performed by singer-songwriter Kat Wright, cellist Parker Ousley, drummer Jo Hay, operatic baritone Colin Levin, accompanied by Josiah Mayo, with esteemed actors, Katie Castagno, Nick Wilson and Katie Pentedemos, Alston Brown and Mark Adams. The cast channels Eugene O’Neill, Herman Melville, Edna St Vincent Millay, Virginia Wolff, William Shakespeare, Lady Murisaki, Henry David Thoreau Ben Franklin and Derek Walcott.

You will be entertained and informed. You will leave with questions and inspirations.
