50th Anniversary Beach Cleanup

Join the CCS Beach Brigade for celebration of the Center for Coastal Studies’ 50th anniversary!
Thursday, August 6th, 2026
8 am – 4 pm (Low tide is at noon)
Great Island Gut, Wellfleet
Meet at the NPS parking lot on the top of the hill – we will likely reposition some cars to the small lot at the bottom of the hill.
Bring Lunch and plenty of water! This all-day cleanup will focus on the gut-side of Great Island — NOT the sandy beach, because the plover fencing is in place and will reduce our coverage on that side.
CCS will provide:
- bags
- pails
- tick spray
- permethrin-treated gaiters
- grabbers
- first aid kits
- carts
- sleds
