Join CCS biologist Lisa Sette and writer/naturalist Elizabeth Bradfield for an exclusive weekend of study, exploration, and discussion about the rich cultural and ecological histories of Cape Cod’s marine mammals.

We will view local art engaged with the sea, discuss the historic and contemporary cultural significance of Cape Cod’s Marine mammals, venture forth aboard Sea Salt Charters–a six-passenger, private charter boat run by the grandson of the founder of New England whale watching–to witness the beautiful, wild ocean that touches our shores. We will also explore Outer Cape beaches and dunes on foot and visit seals at one of their seasonal haul-outs. All the while, you’ll be accompanied by experienced naturalists who have a deep love of and long history on the Cape’s outer lands and whose professional lives focus on these fascinating marine mammals.

Enrollment is limited to 6 adults. Cost is $750 per person. Registration is required.

Cost includes services of two naturalists/guides, refreshments and dinner on the first evening, lunch on the last day, snacks, tips, museum admission, and a private whale watch charter.

Not included: accommodations, transportation to and from the Cape, and/or ground transportation between field trip locations, and meals (except for those listed above).

For more details contact Lisa Sette at 487-3623, ext. 101 or sette@coastalstudies.org
