Visit the Spinnaker Exhibit
August 2 @ 10:00 am - August 6 @ 4:00 pm
The well-known humpback whale named Spinnaker was entangled in fishing gear at least four times in her short life, and freed by CCS on three of those occasions. She died in 2015 aged 11, likely as a result of her entanglement injuries. Her skeleton, with the fishing line and net still embedded in the rood of her mouth, is on display at the CCS Hiebert Marine Lab at 5 Holway Avenue, Provincetown.
The Spinnaker exhibit chronicles her story, presenting a remarkably detailed account of the life of one whale in the modern world.
Open Monday – Friday, 10 am – 4 pm. Suggested donation $5 adults, $3 children. All proceeds support the Center’s research, rescue and education programs.
