Napi’s Lecture: Leatherback Sea Turtles in Cape Cod Bay – Lessons from Disentanglement

March 27, 2019 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

CCS Image NOAA permit # 50 CFR 222.310

At the Center for Coastal Studies, the Marine Animal Entanglement Response (MAER) team works on a variety of species that get entangled off the coast of Cape Cod, including the leatherback sea turtle (Dermochelys coriacea), an endangered and largely pelagic species.

Join Bob Lynch, CCS Rescue Assistant with the MAER team, to learn about the effects of entanglements on these marine turtles and what we have learned through the process of disentanglement.

About the Presenter: Bob Lynch has worked for the Center for Coastal Studies since 2010, starting as an intern for the right whale program. He has done a variety of work in the marine mammal field, from pinniped rehab in California to aerial surveys in the Arctic. Today, Bob is a full-time member of the MAER team.

FREE, all welcome! Come at 5 pm and enjoy an early bird dinner at Napi’s Restaurant, 7 Freeman St., Provincetown.
