Lecture: Beyond Disentanglements–What we learn and the conservation implications
December 1, 2018 @ 1:00 pm - 1:30 pm
Since 1984, the Center for Coastal Studies has freed more than 200 large whales and other marine animals from life threatening entanglements. While the actual disentanglement garners most of the publicity, the resulting research and policy are also news-worthy and just as valuable to marine animal survival. Scott Landry, Director of CCS’s Marine Animal Entanglement Response (MAER), will share what data is gathered from disentanglements and how that science-based information guides conservation efforts.
This talk is scheduled as part of the Holly Folly Open House. It is free and open to the public.
The presentation will be held at the Center for Coastal Studies’ Hiebert Marine Lab, 5 Holway Ave, Provincetown, MA.
