At Napi’s: An Evening with the Right Whale Team

January 30, 2019 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Right whale #3260, Skittle, sub-surface feeding. CCS, NOAA permit 19315-1.

This is the time of year the right whales return to Cape Cod Bay and the Center for Coastal Studies staff is back in the air and on the water documenting how the whales use this important feeding ground. With an estimated population of only 411 North Atlantic right whales remaining, the Center’s population and habitat studies provide critical information aiding in their survival.

Join us for this special evening of conversation with the Right Whale Ecology Program team, illustrated with images from their aerial and boat surveys, to learn more about the research and the researchers! Allison Ogilvie, Amy James, Brigid McKenna, Christy Hudak, Stormy Mayo, and Trevor Laue (the survey pilot) will share memorable moments from their work; provide insight into the goals, challenges, and rewards of their research; and engage in a lively conversation with those in attendance. Join us to celebrate the season, their teamwork, and the returning right whales.

FREE, all welcome! Come at 5 pm and enjoy an early bird dinner at Napi’s Restaurant, 7 Freeman St., Provincetown.
