4th Annual Polar Bear Plunge!
January 1, 2019 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
On New Years Day 2019, Provincetown will celebrate the fourth annual Polar Bear Plunge. Weather permitting, a group of intrepid souls will run, splash and plunge into the waters of Provincetown Harbor–and for the second year in a row, the Center for Coastal Studies benefits from their bravery!
The Center for Coastal Studies is the fortunate recipient of the proceeds from this fun charity event, which is co-sponsored by the Harbor Lounge, Yolqueria and the 8 Dyer Hotel and part of the Provincetown First Light celebrations.
So join us on January 1st at 11 a.m. for warm-up cocktails and chili at Harbor Lounge, listen to some carefully selected music spun by DJ Chris Racine, and learn about the important work of the Center for Coastal Studies.
At noon, weather permitting, head to the Johnson Street parking lot to watch (or join) the Polar Bears plunging into the water, including a few CCS staff. And this year, if CCS researcher Bryan Legare jumps in, donations will be matched up to $1000!
Registration this year is $50 and includes a t-shirt and a donation to the Center for Coastal Studies. If you’d like to join the plunge (or just donate) CLICK HERE to visit Polar Bear Plunge registration page.
You can also just come down to watch and enjoy the event. There will be a DJ, music and a guest emcee, the magical Trampolina Glenellen, as well as Manzanita Coffee, Captain’s Daughter’s tea, and Chequessett hot chocolate, and the best group of people willing to run into the bay on New Years Day!
Thank you to the Harbor Lounge, Yolqueria and the 8 Dyer Hotel for choosing Center for Coastal Studies as the recipient of this great event!
