    Humpback Whale Studies Benefit

(PROVINCETOWN, CAPE COD, MA) - The Provincetown Center for Coastal Studies will host a fundraiser to benefit the Center's humpback studies program on Friday, August 7, departing from MacMillan Pier in Provincetown at 5:30 p.m.

Join Provincetown Center for Coastal Studies scientists aboard the Dolphin Fleet for an exclusive whale watch trip to Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary, to view magnificent humpback whales.

All proceeds will benefit the Center's humpback whale research program, which has been studying and protecting generations of whales you watch for over 30 years. Learn about whale behavior and family history of these animals whose Latin name, Megaptera Novaengliae, means "big-winged New Englander"

Tickets are $100. A complimentary membership to the Center, picnic supper, wine and beer are included. Tickets may be reserved by contacting Jan Young at 508.487.3622, ext. 104, or jeyoung@coastalstudies.org.

The Provincetown Center for Coastal Studies was founded in 1976, dedicated to preserving and protecting marine mammals and marine ecosystems in the Gulf of Maine and beyond through applied research, education, public policy initiatives and management strategies.
