Lecture: Protecting the North Atlantic Right Whale

Presented by the Senior Environment Corps of Elder Services of Cape Cod & the Islands as part of its free “Winter Education & Film Series” on environmental topics of interest to volunteers and the public.
Charles “Stormy” Mayo, senior scientist and director of Right Whale Habitat Studies at the Center for Coastal Studies, will discuss protecting right whales from ship strikes, entanglements and sonar noise in the highly-trafficked Eastern Seaboard from 1 to 2 p.m. March 29 at the Cape Cod National Seashore Salt Pond Visitors Center, 50 Nauset Road, Eastham. Mayo will also provide an update on beaching and possible causes.
Included will be the post-presentation guided tour, “Discover Nauset Marsh.”
