PROGRAM FULL, THANK YOU! COASTSWEEP Beach Clean-up at Long Point
September 16 @ 9:30 am - 1:00 pm
PROGRAM FULL, THANK YOU!
Every summer trash and marine debris washes up on beautiful Long Point Beach in Provincetown, and every summer we ask volunteers to spare a couple of hours to help us collect it, document it, dispose of it or recycle it.
We’ll meet at 9:45 am at the Center for Coastal Studies kiosk on MacMillan Wharf and board a shuttle to Long Point courtesy of Flyer’s Boat Rentals. We’ll be back on the pier by noon, then take a short walk into town for a delicious lunch at Napi’s Restaurant, courtesy of Helen and Napi Van Dereck.
REGISTRATION IS CLOSED!
Please bring gloves, water, and a positive attitude about trash!
Each September through November, thousands of volunteers throughout Massachusetts turn out for COASTSWEEP—the statewide coastal cleanup sponsored by the Massachusetts Office of Coastal Zone Management (CZM). COASTSWEEP is part of the International Coastal Cleanup organized by Ocean Conservancy in Washington, DC. Volunteers from all over the world collect marine debris—trash, fishing line, and any other human-made items—and record what they find. This information is then analyzed and used to identify sources of marine debris and develop education and policy initiatives to help reduce it.
