Cape Cod Wildlife Collaborative Announces The 5th Annual Cape Cod Wildlife Festival

The Cape Cod Wildlife Collaborative is sponsoring its 5th Annual Cape Cod Wildlife Festival on Saturday, September 13th (rain date: Sunday, Sept. 14th) from 10am-3pm at MA Audubon’s Long Pasture Wildlife Sanctuary, 345 Bone Hill Road, Cummaquid.

The festival showcases local environmental groups – both on land and in the water – all in one place, on one day, and free to the general public. It has evolved from a small event attended by 100 participants in 2010, to a larger affair attended by over 400 in 2013.

This year, the festival will again feature an educational presentation featuring live birds from MA Audubon’s Blue Hills Trailside Museum at 1pm, live music with The Gurus, local natural history authors signing and selling their books courtesy of Books By The Sea, wildlife photographers sharing their photography tips, delicious food from Johns Dogs & More, local produce available for sale at Cape Abilities’ farm stand, and lots of environmentally-themed, interactive activities for families.

The festival is underwritten by generous grants from the Mid-Cape Regional Cultural Council Chapter of the Massachusetts Cultural Council and CARE for the Cape and Islands.

The Cape Cod Wildlife Collaborative is a partnership of non-profit organizations committed to protecting wildlife through rescue, rehabilitation, science, advocacy, habitat conservation and education.

Members of the Collaborative are: Barnstable Land Trust, Cape Cod Bay Watch, Cape Wildlife Center, Center for Coastal Studies, Goldenrod Foundation, IFAW Marine Mammal Rescue & Research, MA Audubon Long Pasture Wildlife Sanctuary, National Marine Life Center, Orenda Wildlife Land Trust, Thornton W. Burgess Society, Three Bays Preservation, Whale & Dolphin Conservation, and Wild Care.
